Robert has directed several short films, some for personal interest and others to meet a set brief. He has also been commissioned as a director for actor show reels and promotional videos. Some of his short films include; Mary’s Child (2004), Sunset Over Water (2009), Yolo (2013), Hope to Die (2015), Family Time (2018) and When Sally left Steve (2018)
Having recently completed a Grad Cert in Screen Directing at AFTRS to solidify his skill base, Robert is constantly looking for opportunities to refine his story telling abilities.
Robert’s sweet spot is creating emotionally rich and provocative performances. He is passionate about stories that are character or performance driven with something genuine to say about the human condition.

Theatre
Robert has directed an extensive array of professional, and educational plays, theatrical performances and scenes from over twenty five years of working with actors.
Robert is a firm believer in the importance of spontaneity and authenticity in performances, so his approach is to cultivate a safe collaborative environment with space for play, experimentation and improvisation.
Some of his credits include; It’s Called the Sugarplum (1998), Graceland (1998), Chamber Music (2003), Atlanta (2006) , A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2014) and Hamlet (2017).
